Which mode to choose for freight Europe
Road freight — 7–20 days
How the route runs: Poland → Belarus → Russia → Kazakhstan
The classic route runs through Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan — four transit countries and as many sets of rules. The alternative is the southern corridor via Turkey and the Caspian: dearer, but independent of northern transit. The choice is usually driven less by distance than by which way is more predictable at the time.
From Europe trucks bring machinery and machine tools, car parts, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and reagents, long-shelf-life foods, premium goods.
What to watch on this lane
- The leg is long and crosses several countries: transit depends on queues at the Belarusian, Russian and Kazakh borders rather than on mileage.
- Pharmaceuticals and reagents need temperature control and their own permits — a reefer is booked in advance.
- Equipment needs an accurate technical passport: it decides the HS code and therefore the duty rate.
- European suppliers close for the Christmas holidays — late December is a poor time to plan a dispatch.
Rail freight — 18–35 days
How the route runs: Małaszewicze → Brest → Dostyk
The gauge changes at the Polish–Belarusian border, where the train is transferred at Małaszewicze or Brest. It is the same operation as on the Chinese border and governs transit in the same way: the journey is predictable, the wait for transfer is not.
Rail from Europe brings industrial equipment, metal and sections, chemicals and polymers, paper and pulp, large consignments of production components.
What to watch on this lane
- At the Polish-Belarusian border the gauge changes — the container is transhipped at Małaszewicze or Brest, adding both time and an operation.
- From there the train runs on one gauge to Uzbekistan — no second change is needed, but timing depends on train formation.
- Industrial equipment is often out of gauge for rail: the loading gauge is checked before dispatch, not at the station.
- Documents follow SMGS; on transit through several countries any inaccuracy stops the train at a border.
Air freight — 3–7 days
How the route runs: Frankfurt → Istanbul → Riga
There are no direct freighters from most European cities to Tashkent, so cargo moves through hubs — usually Frankfurt or Istanbul. Transit is therefore counted by the connection rather than the flight: each transfer adds a day or two.
Air from Europe brings spare parts for urgent repairs, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, laboratory reagents, electronics and precision instruments, samples and exhibition kits.
What to watch on this lane
- Temperature-controlled cargo flies in specialised packaging with monitoring — booked ahead and noticeably affecting the price.
- Reagents and chemicals almost always fall under dangerous goods rules: without a safety data sheet the consignment is refused.
- Most European cities have no direct flight, so cargo travels with a connection — transit follows the routing, not the distance.
- Precision instruments need cushioned packing and shock indicators; without them a damage claim is unarguable.

Cargo shipping from Europe or official import?
“Cargo” here means shipping by weight without a declaration: cheaper at the border, but the goods cannot go on your balance sheet, the VAT cannot be reclaimed and nothing can be sold under a contract. For a commercial consignment work out the full cost rather than the per-kilo rate: on an official import the duty and VAT are visible from the start, with grey shipping they surface later — as a fine, or as goods you cannot sell legally. We ship officially only: declaration, invoice, contract.

Frequently asked questions
How does grey cargo differ from your shipping?
Grey cargo moves by weight without a declaration — cheaper at the border, but the goods cannot go on your balance sheet, the VAT cannot be reclaimed and nothing can be sold under a contract. We ship officially: declaration, duty, VAT, invoice. For a commercial consignment compare the full cost, not the per-kilo rate — at volume the official route often works out cheaper.
Which modes do you use from Europe?
Road freight, Rail freight, Air freight. We price the options and show the trade-off in cost and time.
How much does shipping from Europe cost?
The rate depends on weight, volume, cargo type and season. Send us the parameters and we will come back with a quote.
What documents are required?
Invoice, packing list, contract and the transport document — on this lane that means a CMR, an SMGS waybill, an air waybill. We advise the full list for your specific cargo.
Do you handle customs clearance?
Yes, for cargo we carry ourselves: one company answers for both the transport and the customs, under one contract for the whole route. Cargo on this lane enters through Poland, Belarus, Russia and runs to the warehouse under customs transit. We do not take on customs clearance separately from carriage.
